French Restaurant Loire Valley dinner
Loire Valley Wine dinner
Loire Valley Wine dinner
Mas de Daumas Gassac
In 1971 Véronique Guibert de la Vassière and her husband Aimé, a tanner and glove manufacturer, fell in love with an old, abandoned farmhouse in the rural Gassac Valley. In 1972, on advice of one of their friends, they planted 17,000 vines selected from top Bordeaux properties. In the five decades that have passed the Guibert family have become some of the most respected wine makers in Languedoc. The estate is now managed by four of Véronique and Aimé’s five sons.
Chris and Jeff were introduced to the Guibert brothers by our long time friends at Les Caves de Pyrene (who we regulary host sell-out wine events with at Galvin Bistrot & Bar) and they hit it off immediately.
In the words of Samuel Guibert “I met Chris and Jeff around fifteen years ago, at an exceptional dinner they hosted during the Natural Wine Fair. Needless to say, we hit it off immediately. I think one of the reasons for this is that we share a lot of the same values: family, looking after our team, working with natural products (food and wine) and focusing on a positive and generous energy.”
On Wednesday 9th of November we will be joined by Benjamin Anglade who has worked alongside the Guibert brothers since 2014 both on and off the vineyard. Head Chef Arturo Granato has created an exceptional menu to pair with the iconic Mas de Daumas Gassac wines at what will be the last wine dinner at Galvin La Chapelle of 2022.
Spaces are limited.
We hope you can join us for what is sure to be an exceptional evening of food and wine.
