The Galvin Book Club is delighted to welcome author and oyster Rock Star Bobby Groves for a special lunch celebrating his acclaimed book Oyster Isles.

Born in Maldon, Essex, Bobby has spent over 20 years in the oyster industry, from working with 8th generation fishermen on the Essex coast to launching the celebrated raw bar at London’s Chiltern Firehouse, where he still works exclusively. His passion for oyster culture, sustainability, and craftsmanship has taken him across the coasts of Britain, Ireland, and the USA, earning him recognition as one of the leading voices in  shellfish and reef restoration.

Join us on Tuesday 25th November at 1pm for a special Essex sourced lunch with Bobby and an insight into the world behind Oyster Isles, a fascinating exploration of oyster heritage, environment, and adventure.

Tickets includes a delicious lunch of Maldon Oysters, Diver Scallop Crudo and Essex Skate with Cockle beurre noisette, and a signed copy of Bobby’s book.
