Chef’s Tips for the Perfect Bolognese Sauce

    Fideo pasta
    150g beef mince
    400g tin tomato
    1 Portobello mushroom
    1/2 onion
    3 garlic clovers
    1 mild chili
    thyme
    salt & pepper

    Building the Aromatic Base

Slowly bring the aroma of sliced garlic, chopped chilli and thyme in a pan with olive oil. Gently cook for a 1-2 minutes.

Add beef, diced onion and a pinch of salt. Cook for another 2 minutes until the mince beef is well broken down and onion is sweated well.

Elevating the Flavor with Red Wine

At this stage, you could pour 50ml of red wine to add more flavour but it is not necessary.

Continue by adding the diced mushroom and cook for another minute. Add the tin of tomato and cook off until it is all nice, soft and tasty. Add water if necessary while cooking down the tomatoes. Check the seasoning and add salt and pepper.

Serve the bolognese sauce on top of fideo pasta (or any other type of pasta). Drizzle olive oil and grate a good amount of Parmesan on top. Enjoy.
