‘Galvin’ Rasteau 2016, Domaine La Soumade
A great red that we are proud to adorn with the Galvin label. Andre Romero started this Domaine in 1979, he now has 26 hectares including 2.5 on the top site in Rasteau. His yields are very low and everything is hand-picked. This is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, aged in concrete then spend 6 months in oak.
Bright fruit and awesome spice and earthiness make this a complete wine, medium-bodied, nice acidity, balanced oak notes from time in the barrel.
‘Galvin’ Bourgogne Chardonnay ‘Terroir Noble’ 2015, Vincent Girardin
We are lucky to have this delicious wine from the estates of Vincent Girardin as one of our Galvin selection, now showing all the good signs of graceful ageing that make it all the more delicious. Fruit is sourced from vineyards in the communes of Puligny, Chassagne and Meursault; great pedigree indeed.
Expect light aromas of ripe lemon with a floral hint. A rich and elegant wine, with ripe, rounded stone fruits and buttery, creamy richness. Great balance between freshness and concentration of flavours.
‘Galvin’ Grande Réserve Brut NV Champagne
Delicious champagne made & bottled for us by the brilliant co-operative Beaumont des Crayères, this is a blend of mostly Pinot Meunier (60%), the remainder made up of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This blend was chosen for its mellow and mouthfilling style, making it highly suitable as a drink to be enjoyed as an aperitif and to compliment a fine meal.
The Champagne is light-yellow in colour with fine sparkling bubbles. The nose is highly fruity with notes of mirabelle plums, pineapple, fresh bread rolls, butter and yeast. The palate displays flavours of honey, fresh plum and cherries, which leads on to a long persistent and pleasing finish.
Taittinger Brut Réserve NV Champagne
A blend of mostly Chardonnay (40%), Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier wines from over 35 different vineyards and vintages matured to perfection. This high proportion of Chardonnay is unique among fine non- vintage champagnes.
This lovely wine is golden yellow in colour. The expressive aroma shows notes of brioche, it also gives off the fragrance of peach, white flowers and vanilla pod. This is a delicate and balanced wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey. This wine is matured for at least three years in the cellar before release.
